Our Mission

The Madhyamaka School of Applied Philosophy is a non-profit dedicated to bridging ancient wisdom with modern life. Through our centers in Rishikesh and outreach in colleges, we provide students with practical tools of Zen, Vedanta, Buddhism, Socratic Observation and Self-Enquiry to dismantle stress, sharpen focus, and discover an authentic sense of self beyond societal labels.

Foggy Lake

What is Madhyamaka?

The word 'Madhyamaka' means 'The Middle Way.' It is a philosophy that teaches us that nothing exists in isolation—everything is interconnected. By understanding this misconception of separate existence, we stop feeling isolated and start feeling empowered. We apply this ancient logic to modern problems: from overcoming exam anxiety to finding one's true calling.

Our Vision

To create a world where every individual possesses the clarity of attention and the depth of inquiry to navigate life with wisdom, balance, and profound awareness of their own thoughts, feelings, motivations and actions.

Our Values

The Middle Way

We avoid the extremes of hustle-culture and escapism, teaching a balanced path of presence in the real world.

Intellectual Rigor

We don't ask for blind faith. We encourage students to test every philosophy through the lens of their own experience and logic.

Inclusion

We maintain a secular and welcoming environment for students and seekers of all religious, economic and educational backgrounds.

Applied Wisdom

A philosophy is only as good as its application. Every class must result in a tool that can be used to solve a real-life challenge.

Teachers

MSAP is a place of practical enquiry and practiced knowledge. Even though the teachers at the school have studied courses and gained degrees, it is their own self-practice and experience that allows them to teach and share with students.
